The Botanical Garden was completed in 2018 to mark the 20th anniversary of Astana. The entire Botanical Garden, including its park area, covers 92 hectares, of which 63 hectares are green space. An additional 17.7 hectares are designated as a scientific research zone. In total, the garden is home to 34,000 trees and 86,000 shrubs.
